Re “Allstate defends its move,” Opinion, May 15
George Ruebenson writes: “Our business is about helping put lives back together and getting families back on their feet.”
Anyone who has paid any attention to corporate America knows that big business is only about one thing: stock prices and the bottom line, not serving customers or valuing employees. And anyone who has dealt with an insurance company recently knows that insurance is about two things: collecting premiums and avoiding paying claims. Any claim of being all about serving customers is corporate propaganda.
