* at Chicago Cubs 6, Chicago White Sox 3: Mike MacDougal replaced Mark Buehrle with two on and two out in the seventh inning and the White Sox leading, 3-1. Angel Pagan tripled to right on the first pitch to tie the score. Catcher Toby Hall then missed MacDougal’s low outside pitch for a passed ball and Pagan scored the go-ahead run.

* at Pittsburgh 11, Arizona 5: Xavier Nady hit a three-run homer to help the Pirates take a seven-run lead in the only non-interleague series of the weekend.

* at Cleveland 9, Cincinnati 4: Cliff Lee yielded two earned runs and six hits over six innings to improve to 8-0 in 11 starts against National League opponents.

* at Detroit 14, St. Louis 4: The Tigers scored nine runs in the fifth inning and Andrew Miller, the sixth overall pick in the 2006 draft, pitched six scoreless innings in his first major league start.

* at Philadelphia 5, Toronto 3: Jon Lieber pitched seven-plus strong innings, Brett Myers escaped a bases-loaded jam and the Phillies won for the seventh time in nine games.

* Minnesota 8, at Milwaukee 1: After giving up a run and two hits in the first inning, Boof Bonser shut out the Brewers on a single over the next six innings. Torii Hunter hit a grand slam.

* Baltimore 5, at Washington 4: The Orioles, who ended a five-game losing streak, built leads of 3-0 and 5-2 in support of Steve Trachsel, who won for the first time in five starts.

* Texas 7, at Houston 4: Nelson Cruz and Ramon Vazquez hit back-to-back homers and Robinson Tejeda held the Astros scoreless for five innings.
