Re “A rather unusual species of museum,” May 20
I have a question for creationists: If the Bible is the revealed word of God, and God is all knowing, why did God only reveal “facts” that a primitive people 3,000 years ago thought were the truths about the universe? God certainly knew of the existence of North America, the structure of the solar system, the laws of physics and other currently well-known facts. Why didn’t he reveal Bernoulli’s Principle so the ancients could fly?
The reason that the only things “revealed” in the Bible were ancient myths is because the Bible was written by men, not God. The fact that the Bible is a series of mythical stories does not diminish in any way the teachings that are in it. We can still learn a lot from the Bible on how to live, but let’s not get carried away. God had nothing to do with it.

Americans are fighting against radical fundamentalist Islam, which turns children into terrorists or walking bombs. Radical Islam’s method is to indoctrinate children and deny them any true knowledge of the world.
Sadly, America’s children are now becoming indoctrinated into ignorance in the madrasas of fundamentalist Christian cults. The new museum in Kentucky is only a symptom of the lengths to which some sects will go to preserve their control over the lives of millions of Americans. The saddest part is that they deny the very wonders of creation itself and the magnificent structures and methods put in place by the creator that allow us to become fully human. In their ignorance, they deny mankind’s greatest gift from the creator -- the human mind.

I do hope those good people who go to visit the creationist museum do not fall off the edge of the Earth.
