Going wheels over heels

HOLLYWOOD’S finally paying tribute to the fall guy. Rather than long, boring monologues that come standard with your average awards show, the Taurus World Stunt Awards at Paramount Pictures on May 20 featured 1. fired-up models and 2. flying motorcycles for a crowd of action heroes, including host Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Harrison Ford, 3. “The 300’s” Gerard Butler, who picked up “Action Movie Star of the Year” honors, and even the Governator. If only the Oscars were this exciting! But it’s all in a day’s work for “the godmother of stuntwomen,” Jeannie Epper, who received the Taurus lifetime achievement award from 100 stuntwomen and a shout-out from Steven Spielberg, who taped a tribute. Also giving credit where credit is due: Bruce Willis, who honored his stuntman, Larry Rippenkroeger. After breaking both wrists during the making of “Live Free or Die Hard,” Rippenkroeger received a grant from the event’s foundation. But no harm done here.

A ‘Pirates’ invasion of Disneyland

Like a true pirate, 4. Johnny Depp did more than steal the spotlight at the “Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End” premiere at Disneyland on May 19. He also seems to have raided 5. Keith Richards’ closet. Check out their matching vests, white shirts and scarves. The Rolling Stones rocker, who inspired Depp on screen too, brought along his wife and kids to catch his cameo in the blockbuster franchise. 6. Geoffrey Rush walked the 26,000-square-foot carpet with his monkey from the movie, perhaps realizing that he would need something to pull the focus from pretty boy 7. Orlando Bloom. Keira Knightley was off shooting in Wales, leaving 8. Bill Nighy to resort to providing his own eye candy.

Dressing up for Friendly House benefit

Decades boutique owner Cameron Silver has outfitted stars such as Angelina Jolie and J. Lo. But it was another client’s body part that the creative director of Azarro praised at the “Fashion for Life” event last Sunday, which featured a silent auction to benefit drug-and-alcohol recovery organization Friendly House. “I want to thank Kristin Davis for ... having the smallest waist of anyone I know, because she’s the only one who could fit into that dress!” marveled the 2007 Vision Award recipient in front of guests, including 9. Amber Valletta, left, and Friendly House executive director Peggy Albrecht. 10. Davis (with Silver), in a ‘50s Don Loper dress, giggled before watching the fashion show, which included L.A. designers Corey Lynn Calter, Miss Davenporte and Avita.

Trendies -- it’s the Summer of Glove!

Things have gone from bad to worse for Michael Jackson, who has all but lost his claim to one of his nicknames. 11. Karl Lagerfeld seemed, in fact, to be this generation’s Gloved One when he showed up to the 2007-08 Chanel Cruise Show on May 18 at Santa Monica Airport in not one but two of Jackson’s beloved accessories. Lagerfeld’s edgy, fingerless take is decidedly different than the fallen King of Pop’s, but nonetheless it has already caught on with 12. Lindsay Lohan, who showed off her double-glove love at the event, where models emerged from Chanel Line jets to walk the runway. Only time will tell if fellow attendees Demi Moore and Victoria Beckham will follow suit.
