Mayor’s office confirms departure of deputy

Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa’s office has confirmed that Deputy Mayor Marcus Allen resigned last week to become a lobbyist.
Allen will work for two prominent firms, Arnie Berghoff & Associates and Englander & Associates, but city rules prohibit him from lobbying Los Angeles officials for one year after resigning.
Allen dealt with the city budget and financial policies, among other matters.
