College basketball: In the Oct. 30 Sports section, the USC women’s basketball preview indicated the team is trying to reach the NCAA tournament for the first time since nearly upsetting Michigan State in 2004-05. In fact, the team qualified for the tournament in 2005-06 but it missed last season.
