Through picket signs

When the entertainment industry scribes descended on Los Angeles with their picket signs Monday, it gave a whole new meaning to “November sweeps.” In a month when the networks usually show off their big guns -- a wedding and (gasp) death on “Ugly Betty,” a crossover episode between “CSI” and “Without a Trace” -- TV viewers will have another reason to wonder, “What will happen to my favorite show?” Most networks air repeats in December around the low-viewership holiday period, so most shows will not run out of original material until at least mid-January, if a strike lasts that long. The following is a list of where many series stand:

Late night

“The Colbert Report,” “The Daily Show” and “Saturday Night Live”: Will go into repeats immediately.

“The Tonight Show With Jay Leno” and “Late Night With Conan O’Brien”: Will go into repeats immediately.
