Council panel urges full report on hospital project
The City Council’s planning committee voted 2 to 0 on Tuesday night that Providence Holy Cross Medical Center should perform a more thorough environmental review of a proposed 119,000-square-foot expansion.
The vote is not final. The full council is scheduled to decide the matter today, when 10 votes will be needed to require the full environmental report for the Mission Hills facility.
The city Planning Commission decided earlier this year that the more comprehensive report wasn’t needed. But a coalition of unions and residents said more study was needed.
