Spirit Awards going green
As part of a company-wide greening initiative, Film Independent is implementing several changes to produce an eco-friendly award show for the 2008 Spirit Awards, which take place Feb. 23 in Santa Monica. To eliminate paper and waste energy, for example, Film Independent has partnered with the independent film discover and distribution company B-Side to offer online streaming of nominated films. The green directive will also affect the food served and the power source used to cook the meals.
