Tires on one hand, good air the other

It was ironic that your story on furniture made from tires [“Where Rubber Meets the Room,” Nov. 15] was positioned opposite the article on inside-air quality. Tires are designed to outgas. They contain oils and other chemicals intended to work to the surface and protect against ozone damage and cracking.
