Time for another recall?

Re “Freeze the fees,” Opinion, Nov. 15
As a recently retired teacher, I spent my whole career at an inner-city high school trying to convince students that college offered better alternatives than gangs. I appreciate the article by Lt. Gov. John Garamendi and UC Davis law professor John Oakley. I know that one of the biggest deterrents to my students’ college dreams is money. (The other is Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger’s veto of the California Dream Act.) At least one state leader acknowledges the importance of nurturing the next generation rather than burdening it with our debts. I’d far sooner see Garamendi as governor than the mannequin who now occupies that position. Anyone interested in a recall?
