Ailing hospital looking for funds

In an effort to save troubled Grady Memorial Hospital, its board decided to set up a nonprofit governing board intended to attract $300 million in funding.
Staggering under a deficit projected at $50 million, Atlanta’s only public hospital could close at year’s end, leaving the city without a major trauma center and forcing thousands of poor people to go to emergency rooms for routine medical care. Grady accepts all patients, regardless of their ability to pay.
