From Times Staff and Wire Reports

Actor Orlando Bloom and two women were taken to a hospital Friday after a crash in Hollywood, police said.

A 35-year-old woman suffered a neck fracture and a 30-year-old woman received cuts and bruises to her face, but there was no report of injury to Bloom, Los Angeles Police Officer Ana Aguirre said. Both were passengers in Bloom’s car.

Bloom was driving a Toyota Matrix on Fountain Avenue near Vista Street about 2:15 a.m. when he was cut off by a vehicle that swerved into his lane. When Bloom tried to avoid the vehicle he hit two parked cars, Aguirre said.

She said there were reports that paparazzi were following Bloom, but police could not confirm that. The other vehicle drove off, Aguirre said.

She said there was no indication that Bloom was under the influence of drugs or alcohol or that he was speeding.

Bloom starred in “Pirates of the Caribbean,” the “Lord of the Rings” trilogy and “Troy.”
