City votes to seek U.S. withdrawal from Iraq

The City Council voted 12 to 2 Tuesday to ask President Bush to withdraw troops and contractors from Iraq immediately. Among the reasons cited by the resolution, written by Councilman Bill Rosendahl, were the war’s cost in American and Iraqi lives and the diversion of area tax revenue.
“It’s time to get out of an illegal and immoral war now,” Rosendahl said.
