Etheridge to rock for Gore at Nobels

Melissa Etheridge, Alicia Keys and Annie Lennox are among the artists who will perform at the annual Nobel Peace Prize Concert in Norway, organizers said.
The Dec. 11 concert will also feature performances by Earth Wind & Fire, Spanish singer Juanes and Scottish singer-songwriter KT Tunstall.
This year’s Nobel Peace Prize went to former Vice President Al Gore and the U.N.’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change for their efforts to help spread awareness about man-made global warming.
Organizers said Gore invited Etheridge to perform at the concert, which is held a day after the award ceremony in Oslo. Each year, peace laureates are given the opportunity to invite one artist of their choice. Etheridge won an Academy Award this year for the song “I Need to Wake Up,” which was featured in Gore’s environmental documentary “An Inconvenient Truth.”
