From Times Wire Reports
China’s powerful Vice President Zeng Qinghong, 68, was left off the list for the Communist Party’s 200-strong Central Committee today, state media reported, making him almost certain to retire. Zeng is ranked fifth in the party hierarchy.
Also left off the new committee were Wu Guanzheng, 69, Luo Gan, 72, and Vice Premier Wu Yi, one of the few women in China’s political elite, New China News Agency said.
A new team of leaders is to be announced Monday.
