It’s a crime
Re “Richie’s 82 minutes in jail,” Aug. 24
It seems that in California, the only people forced to serve time are jurors. To avoid arrest, we give up a day, a week or more of our lives so that the typical malfeasant (we are told) can get out of jail in 82 minutes. The next time I receive a jury summons, I think I’ll choose the 82 minutes. If I’m lucky, my newly established record will disqualify me from further jury service.
