A new vision in O.C., in a word

What’s in a name? The Orange County Performing Arts Center will henceforth be identified as . . . the Orange County Performing Artscenter.

Why the change? It’s part of a “newly articulated vision for the future,” OCPAC President Terrence Dwyer said Tuesday.

The reconceived logo reflects the facility’s growth -- which includes the recent addition of the 2,000-seat Renée and Henry Segerstrom Concert Hall and the 500-seat Samueli Theater -- as well as a shift in focus on “layering” traditional and new programming to “appeal to a broader and more diverse range of audiences,” Dwyer said. “We wanted to send a signal to the community that we were evolving in this way.”
