Surreal circus under big top

The eclectic, Hollywood-based FocusFish Flying Circus ensemble presents “Gush,” its new rock ‘n’ roll circus show. It’s a mythical journey undertaken by Mr. Robb, “the last happy clown on Earth,” who’s trying to survive life’s bumpier roads. It includes aerialists, fire dancers, stilt jugglers, animated projections, the band Storytyme and larger-than-life puppets in a mix of traditional circus arts and nontraditional performance arts under the big top.

FocusFish Flying Circus, John Anson Ford Amphitheatre, 2580 Cahuenga Blvd. E., Hollywood. Opens 8 p.m. Friday. Also 8 p.m. Saturday. $25 and $35; children, $5. (323) 461-3673; www.fordamphitheatre.org.
