Kenya preventing malaria deaths

Kenya is saving children’s lives with a national program to distribute insecticide-treated bed nets to prevent malaria, researchers reported Friday in the journal Lancet.
For every 1,000 nets used, the lives of seven children were saved, they said. Malaria kills a child every 30 seconds, mainly African children younger than 5, according to the World Health Organization.
