IPhone shortage may be an omen

Apple Inc.’s retail stores are running out of iPhones, a sign the company may soon introduce a new version of the Web-surfing handset, an analyst said in a report.
At least 20 of Apple’s 180 stores in the U.S. are out of iPhones, and Apple is telling online shoppers it may take as long as seven days to fill their orders, Piper Jaffray & Co. analyst Gene Munster said.
