at Milwaukee 3, Cincinnati 2 (10 innings): Rickie Weeks singled home the winning run and the Brewers defeated the Reds after Eric Gagne blew his second save in three chances. Salomon Torres (1-0) got the victory.

at Colorado 4, Atlanta 3: Ubaldo Jimenez overcame a shaky start and Matt Holliday hit two run-scoring singles in the Rockies’ second one-run victory in a row over the Braves. Each of Atlanta’s five losses have come by one run.

St. Louis 5, at Houston 3: Troy Glaus hit a two-run double in the eighth inning off Geoff Geary (0-1) to give the Cardinals the victory. Anthony Reyes (1-0) pitched three scoreless innings of one-hit ball and Jason Isringhausen worked a perfect ninth for his fourth save.

Philadelphia 5, at New York 2: Jamie Moyer (1-0) gave up two runs and four hits in six innings and Jayson Werth hit a tiebreaking single. Philadelphia, which took advantage of the Mets’ epic collapse last September to win the division title, has won nine in a row against New York.

at San Francisco 3, San Diego 2 (11 innings): Bengie Molina hit his second homer of the game with one out in the 11th inning off Cla Meredith. The Giants ended a four-game skid.

at Arizona 10, Dodgers 5: Doug Davis, pitching two days before his scheduled surgery for thyroid cancer, gave up two runs in six innings and the Diamondbacks won their fifth in a row.
