Re “Blood money,” editorial, April 11

Your editorial’s convoluted logic is off the mark. Let us face it: President Bush’s adopted doctrine of “we are fighting there so that we don’t have to fight here” has created the painful reality of “we spent a fortune there and now we don’t have much to spend here.” Meanwhile, everything else, including our vulnerability to terrorist attacks, remains unchanged.
