* at Boston 11, Texas 3: Slumping David Ortiz hit a grand slam to lead the Red Sox. He entered the game batting .111, the lowest of any regular in the majors. He went two for four with five RBIs.

* at Baltimore 8, New York 2: Jay Payton and Melvin Mora had two RBIs apiece during a seven-run sixth inning. Daniel Cabrera and Phil Hughes were locked in a 1-1 duel before the Orioles sent 11 men to the plate. They got seven hits -- all singles.

* Chicago 9, at Tampa Bay 2: Jim Thome, who homered, has reached base safely in all 26 games he has played at Tropicana Field. The Rays and rookie third baseman Evan Longoria, the former Long Beach State star, agreed to terms on a $17.5-million, six-year contract.

* Cleveland 4, at Minnesota 0: Cliff Lee, who pitched two-hit ball for eight innings, has won his first three starts with an earned-run average of 0.40. Casey Blake homered and had three RBIs.

* at Oakland 13, Kansas City 2: Bobby Crosby homered and drove in five runs to lead the A’s, who broke out of a weeklong offensive slump with their highest run total of the season, including a four-run sixth inning. They scored only seven runs in their previous seven games.

* Detroit 8, at Toronto 4: The Tigers dealt the Blue Jays their sixth consecutive home defeat. The Blue Jays have not won at home since April 6, when they completed a three-game sweep of Boston. It’s their longest home skid since an eight-game streak from April 5-17, 2004.

* at Angels 5, Seattle 4: Torii Hunter doubled his first three times up, driving in three runs for the Angels.
