at Detroit 8, Texas 2: Magglio Ordonez and the Tigers are starting to hit the way they hoped. Ordonez hit two of the Tigers’ five home runs and they completed a three-game sweep of the Rangers. The Tigers outscored Texas, 37-10, in the series and have won four in a row overall.

at Oakland 11, Minnesota 2: Emil Brown hit a two-run single as the A’s batted around in the first inning and scored six runs. Donnie Murphy hit solo shots in the fifth and sixth innings for his first and second homers of the season and first career multihomer game.

Cleveland 9-2, at Kansas City 6-0: Cliff Lee faced only two batters over the minimum while pitching a three-hit shutout to give the Indians a sweep. In the opener, the Indians took a 7-1 lead against Brett Tomko in the third.

at Tampa Bay 5, Toronto 3: Disney World has turned into quite an alternative home for the Rays, who came from behind for the third night in a row to beat the Blue Jays for a sweep of a home-away-from-home series.

at Chicago 7, New York 6: Joe Crede singled in the winning run off Joba Chamberlain in the bottom of the ninth and the White Sox avoided a three-game sweep.

Baltimore 8, at Seattle 7: Brian Roberts homered to lead off the eighth inning, giving the Orioles their sixth win in seven games against the Mariners this season.

Angels 7, at Boston 5: Mike Napoli hit his fifth homer. Last year, he didn’t hit his fifth until May 23.
