Sly Stone’s new direction
GEOFF BOUCHER was right on point in capturing the essence of Sly Stone and where he is at today. As someone who covered where Sly has been and just how bad things got, it was refreshing to see Sly looking healthy, and Boucher’s story artfully conveyed Sly’s hunger to get back in the game and deliver for his fans.
I am hoping that Sly has the kind of comeback that James Brown enjoyed for many years after some dark days. Boucher’s article went a long way toward helping me believe what Sly believed was possible in 1969 and what Sly believes is possible today -- you can make it if you try.

Ihad to laugh at Sly being late for Geoff Boucher’s meeting. I saw Sly & the Family Stone three times in the late ‘60s and they were late coming on stage between 45 and 90 minutes each time.
He has never cared about the fans.
