* New York 1, at Cleveland 0: Chien-Ming Wang (5-0) shut down the Indians for seven innings and outpitched C.C. Sabathia (1-4), whose lone mistake turned into a home run by Melky Cabrera to help the Yankees end a three-game losing streak. Wang gave up four hits and struck out nine.

* at Chicago 6, Baltimore 1: Paul Konerko homered twice and Jose Contreras (2-2) pitched 6 2/3 innings to lead the White Sox. Contreras earned his second win against Baltimore this season, giving up Brian Roberts’ home run in the third. He gave up five hits and struck out three.

* Oakland 4, at Seattle 2: Emil Brown had a broken-bat, two-run single in the Athletics’ four-run eighth inning. Seattle starter Felix Hernandez cruised through seven innings, giving up only four hits and striking out 10 before running into trouble in the eighth.

* Toronto 5, at Kansas City 2: Scott Rolen homered and drove in two runs, Alex Rios collected four hits and scored three times and the Blue Jays ended a six-game losing streak. The Royals’ Gil Meche (1-4) threw 129 pitches in 6 2/3 innings, matching his career high.

* at Texas 10, Minnesota 0: Vicente Padilla (3-2) threw a seven-hitter and Milton Bradley hit a three-run homer for the Rangers (9-17), who have set a club record for losses in April but won two of three from the Twins.

* at Tampa Bay 3, Boston 0: Tampa Bay completed the sweep despite Josh Beckett’s career-high 13 strikeouts.

* Angels 6, at Detroit 2: The Tigers’ Justin Verlander gave up four or more runs for the fifth time in six starts.
