Six Flags’ shares jump nearly 10%

Shares of Six Flags Inc. rose nearly 10% after the operator of Magic Mountain in Valencia and other amusement parks reported that third-quarter sales got a boost from higher attendance.
Sales increased 7.6%, or $23.5 million, in the quarter through Aug. 12 over the same period a year earlier, Six Flags said. Attendance climbed by 5.1%, or 407,000, to 8.43 million guests, the company said. Guest spending also rose, by 1.6%, or 60 cents, to $38.56.
Six Flags shares rose 10 cents to $1.13.
