Female suicide bomber kills 11

A female suicide bomber attacked the main railway station in Sri Lanka’s capital, Colombo, killing at least 11 people and wounding 92 others on the eve of today’s celebrations of the nation’s 60th anniversary of independence from Britain.
Military spokesman Brig. Udaya Nanayakkara blamed the separatist Tamil Tiger rebels. Calls to a rebel spokesman were not answered.
