Guilty plea in actress’ killing
From the Associated Press
A construction worker has pleaded guilty to manslaughter, admitting he strangled actress and filmmaker Adrienne Shelly while trying to rob her in her New York City apartment.
Shelly, who wrote, directed and co-starred in “Waitress,” was killed in her Greenwich Village home in November 2006. Her body was then hanged to make the death look like a suicide.
Diego Pillco entered his guilty plea Thursday. The illegal immigrant from Ecuador will receive 25 years in prison when he is sentenced on March 6.
