Bulk mail carriers?
Australia’s postal service has raised its weight restriction on motorcycle staff, a move that reflects a shortage of slender recruits among an increasingly heavy population, a union said today.
Australia Post increased the weight limit for men and women who ride its 110cc bikes from 198 pounds to 231 pounds. Union representative Michael Etue said Australia Post had struggled to find recruits that could meet the 198-pound limit.
The service’s spokesman, Scott McIntyre, said the mail load limit had remained unchanged at 55 pounds.
