Premier’s win brings protests

About 20,000 angry opposition supporters marched through Armenia’s capital, Yerevan, to protest the prime minister’s victory in the presidential election.
With Russia and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe signaling approval of Tuesday’s election, though, it was unclear whether the opposition could mount a serious challenge.
Election officials said a final count showed Prime Minister Serge Sargsyan with nearly 53% of the vote. His main opponent, Levon Ter-Petrosyan, had 21.5%.
