DESIGNERS WITHIN REACH

Downtown, REDCAT’s “Two Lines Align” explores the converging careers of L.A.-based graphic designers Ed Fella, 70, and Geoff McFetridge, 36, and exhibits how flexible the boundaries between commercial and “fine” art are. Says curator Michael Worthington: “While Fella reflects how graphic design struggled to define itself in relationship to art, McFetridge follows a path where the integration of art and design is taken for granted.” (Pictured: Fella’s “Sketchbook #42”) Opens today; ends April 6, www.redcat.org
