Suspected rebels kill 10 civilians
From Times Wire Reports
Suspected Tamil Tiger rebels killed 10 Sinhalese civilians, the Defense Ministry said, in a continuation of violence after the government’s withdrawal from a cease-fire.
A military spokesman blamed the insurgents for the killings in Thanamalwila village, about 160 miles southeast of Colombo, the capital.
A pro-rebel website said those killed were civilians carrying guns provided by the government. It did not say who was responsible.
