Teen queen’s debut

Share

MILEY-MANIA hit Hollywood Boulevard at the premiere of the Disney phenom’s “Hannah Montana & Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert” at the El Capitan Theatre on Jan. 17. 4. Even photographers wigged out when they spotted the newly brunet teen queen. No wig necessary for 5. Heather Locklear, with daughter Ava, who already fit right in with her Hannah Montana-colored hair. 6. Billy Ray and Tish Cyrus cheered on their daughter along with her legions of screaming fans, who also shrieked for 7. the Jonas Brothers, who suited up to catch their appearance in the 3-D flick. Then it was on to the after-party at The Highlands, where adorably stylish kids gorged themselves at a dessert bar and snapped photos with the teen idols. Pretty sweet!

Aussie love

When news hit that John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John would both take the stage at G’Day USA black-tie gala celebrating Australia Week at the Hollywood & Highland complex on Jan. 19, guests hoped they might be treated to a “Grease” flashback. No such luck. The 1. Aussie singer went solo to sing her hits, including “Physical” and “I Honestly Love You,” which prompted her ex costar to profess from the stage: “Olivia, I love you. I honestly love you.” 2. Travolta also showed the love to another Down Under honoree, Kylie Minogue, as he handed over her Excellence in Entertainment award.

A traditional celebration

After the opening-night performance of Los Angeles Opera’s “Tristan and Isolde” on Jan. 19, star 3. John Treleaven, left, unleashed the laughter with artist David Hockney, the designer of the production. Also in a festive mood: the 300 guests at the after-party, who sampled the German fare and serenaded General Director Placido Domingo with a classic. No arias here. Just a simple “Happy Birthday” and a toast to the maestro, who turned 67 two days later.
