Islamic group’s suit is thrown out
A judge has tossed out a lawsuit by an Islamic organization that accused the Bush administration of illegally wiretapping its telephones without warrants.
The now-defunct Al-Haramain Islamic Foundation said the government accidentally sent it a top-secret document while considering whether to label the group a terrorist organization.
The group said the document appeared to be a log of calls between organization officers and their attorneys.
The federal judge ruled Wednesday that the group can’t use the top-secret document to prove its case.
