Guilty plea in theft of iPods
An 18-year-old Irvine Eagle Scout arrested last month on suspicion of stealing iPods, cash and cigarettes from inside vehicles pleaded guilty to seven misdemeanor counts in court last week and was sentenced to 60 days in jail, authorities said Wednesday. Carter Andrew Sudeith, 18, also was sentenced to three years’ probation and is scheduled to begin serving his jail time July 14.
Sudeith was arrested hours after his high school graduation. police said. He was dressed in black, carried a black backpack and wore latex gloves. He was apparently looking for unlocked cars and was able to break into as many as 30 after more than 100 attempts, police said.
