U.N. urges more cyclone relief

The United Nations asked for more than $300 million in additional aid to cope with the effects of a cyclone two months ago that left 138,000 people dead or missing.
Although much aid has been supplied to about 2.4 million people seriously affected, “there are many who still remain in need of basic assistance,” U.N. humanitarian affairs chief John Holmes said.
Many areas affected by Tropical Cyclone Nargis, which struck the Irrawaddy delta region in May, still had not received the level of aid they needed, he said.
