Kevan and Norma Newton of Los Angeles hoped they wouldn’t see a kill during their honeymoon safari last July in Kenya and Tanzania. They didn’t realize they had until Kevan took a closer look at this colorful bird he photographed during a stop to view a leopard in Tanzania’s Tarangire National Park. He used a 300-mm lens on his Canon Digital Rebel to capture the surprising scene.
