Caught up in a dream scene

Movies don’t have to be international blockbusters to warrant a sequel. Case in point: the 2006 Jason Statham thriller “Crank,” starring the balding English action actor as a man who needed to keep his adrenaline pumped just to stay alive. The low-budget indie earned just $44.8 million worldwide -- decent, but not exactly “Dark Knight” territory.

Still, Statham reunited this year with “Crank” writer-directors Brian Taylor and Mark Neveldine for “Crank 2: High Voltage,” set to open in April. This time around, Statham’s character has a mechanical heart he must keep electrically charged. But Statham wasn’t on the set when photographer David Strick showed up May 16 to shoot a fantasy sequence. Instead, he caught stuntman Dave Kilde wearing a caricature mask of tough guy Statham for the offbeat fight dream scene.

David Strick is a veteran photographer whose work has given him access to behind-the-scenes Hollywood.
