* at Philadelphia 5, Cincinnati 4: Ken Griffey Jr. remained one shy of 600 home runs after getting the night off, but Philadelphia’s Chase Utley hit his major league-leading 21st homer to help the Phillies win.
* at Milwaukee 4, Arizona 3: Prince Fielder homered to lead off the eighth. It was Fielder’s third homer in the last four games and ninth this season.
* Pittsburgh 5, at St. Louis 4: Jason Michaels hit a tying pinch-hit grand slam in the seventh and Jason Bay drove in the winning run an inning later.
* at San Francisco 10, New York 2: Brian Horwitz hit the first home run of his career with a two-run shot in the Giants’ six-run first and Ray Durham also drove in three runs. Randy Winn also homered with a leadoff drive in the first, when Aaron Rowand doubled to extend his hitting streak to 10 games.
* Chicago 7, at San Diego 6: Carlos Zambrano (8-1) gave up three runs in the first inning before settling down and helping the Cubs win their eighth in a row. Jim Edmonds, released by the Padres on May 9 after his batting average had fallen to .178, had two RBI doubles and scored one run for the Cubs.
* at Atlanta 7, Florida 5: John Smoltz blew the save, but the Braves still won on Yunel Escobar’s two-run homer in the 10th inning.
* at Dodgers 8, Colorado 2: Jeff Kent, Andre Ethier and Matt Kemp hit home runs for the Dodgers.
