Fox News shuffles its lineup
Fox News is tapping conservative radio host Laura Ingraham as one of a series of rotating guest anchors who will helm its 2 p.m. show in the coming months, the network announced Tuesday.
Ingraham has been a Fox News contributor and the substitute host of “The O’Reilly Factor” since October 2007. On June 16, she will take over for Bill Hemmer and Megyn Kelly, who have anchored “America’s Election HQ” at 2 p.m. since February, along with their two-hour morning show.
The appointment of Ingraham comes amid other changes to the top-rated cable news network’s daytime lineup. “The Live Desk With Martha MacCallum,” which airs at 10 a.m., is being expanded to two hours, with Trace Gallagher coming aboard as a co-host.
Fox News has not yet settled on a new post for E.D. Hill, who anchors the 11 a.m. hour. Hill stirred controversy last week when she said that an affectionate fist bump between Sen. Barack Obama and his wife had been characterized as a “terrorist fist jab.” A network executive familiar with the situation said the change in her roles was not related to the flap over her comment.
On Tuesday, Hill apologized, saying that she “certainly didn’t mean to associate the word ‘terrorist’ in any way with Sen. Obama and his wife.”
