Flooding kills 55 across the south
From Times Wire Reports
State media reported that 55 people have been killed and seven are missing in flooding across a broad stretch of southern China.
A report today by the official New China News Agency said more than 1 million people had been forced to flee their homes in nine provinces, including Sichuan, which is still reeling from the May earthquake that killed 70,000 people.
Heavy rain in Sichuan, Guizhou and Yunnan provinces will raise water levels downstream, New China News said.
