High lead levels in kids’ pajamas
About 28,000 camouflage pajama sets, made in Vietnam by Children’s Place Retail Stores Inc., are being recalled because the screen print on the shirt has high levels of lead, which is toxic if ingested by children. The pajama set has camouflage pants and a blue shirt with a screen print reading “Athletics 90,” the company and the Consumer Product Safety Commission said. * About 11,000 Adventure play sets and Create N Adventure wooden play sets, manufactured in China and distributed by Backyard Leisure this year, are being recalled because the hangers attaching the glider’s chains to the frame can break. The company has received 114 reports of broken hangers, including three reports of injuries. The sets were sold at Wal-Mart stores around the country, on Wal-Mart’s website under the Adventure Playsets brand and at Toys R Us stores around the country under the Create N Adventure brand. * About 9,700 Bosch Hammer Drills, made by Robert Bosch Tool Corp., of Mount Prospect, Ill., are being recalled because the drill can continue to operate after the trigger has been released, posing a risk of injury. The recalled hammer drill is blue with “Bosch” printed on the side. The model number 1191VSR can be located on the product nameplate mounted on the side of the motor. Only drills with a serial number that begins with “7” are included in the recall. * About 7,500 indoor ceiling light fixtures, manufactured in China and imported by Progress Lighting, are being recalled because the cable that hangs the light from the ceiling can break, causing the fixture to fall. The company has received five reports of fallen fixtures, and two reports of injuries. The light fixtures were sold by electrical and lighting distributors and at Home Depot stores around the country between January 2005 and March 2008.
