* at Washington 10, Boston 2: Alex Ovechkin scored three goals in the Capitals’ six-goal first period and finished with five points in helping end the Bruins’ six-game winning streak. Ovechkin’s 52 goals lead the NHL.
* at San Jose 6, Montreal 4: Joe Thornton had two goals and two assists, and new Sharks defenseman Brian Campbell scored the final goal in their sixth straight victory. San Jose’s Evgeni Nabokov made 27 saves.
* at Ducks 3, Ottawa 1: The Ducks won their sixth straight game in a rematch of last season’s Stanley Cup finals.
