There’s a whole lotta high school going on

We will talk about: “Drillbit Taylor.” The year of Judd Apatow-produced films begins with this funny-looking flick about three nerdy kids who hire a bodyguard to protect them from a bully. Owen Wilson plays the bodyguard -- a good choice, we think. The script is co-written by Seth Rogen and Kristofor Brown (who used to write for “Undeclared”). We’re still more excited for “Pineapple Express,” but this could be a winner. (Friday)

You might talk about: “Miss/Guided.” We’ve been hearing a lot about how women are funny lately, thanks to that Vanity Fair cover with Sarah Silverman, Amy Poehler and Tina Fey. We haven’t checked to see if actress-comedian Judy Greer is mentioned deeper in the magazine, but we know she should be. She’s hilarious in everything she’s been in. This week Fox debuts “Miss/Guided” starring Greer as a woman who returns to her high school alma mater as a guidance counselor. (Tuesday)

You’re more likely to talk about: “Dancing With the Stars.” This hyper-successful show has never really intrigued us, but with Steve Guttenberg competing against Adam Carolla and former Olympic gold medalist Kristi Yamaguchi, even we may be tempted to tune in to the premiere on ABC this week. Gutten-berg! Gutten-berg! (Monday)

You could talk about: Indie starlets and their singing. We got to hear the new Scarlett Johansson album coming out in May recently, and while it’s not bad, it’s not awesome either. We’d rather listen to She & Him, a collaboration between actress Zooey Deschanel and one-man band M. Ward. They release their first album this week, titled simply “Volume One.” Deschanel is a better singer, and it sounds like she’s having a lot more fun. (Tuesday)

We’ll never tire of talking about: Tyler Perry. The juggernaut continues this week with the release of “Meet the Browns” -- a sort of funny, emotional portrait of a black family struggling to do the right thing despite all sorts of hurdles. In other words: more of the same. But the trailer gave us a lump in our throat, and nobody can claim surprise anymore when these films take the No. 1 spot at the box office. (Friday)
