* at Pittsburgh 3, N.Y. Rangers 1: Sidney Crosby set up goals by Marian Hossa and Evgeni Malkin and the Penguins, playing at close to full strength for the first time in weeks, moved into first place in the Eastern Conference.

* at Detroit 1, Nashville 0 (OT): Johan Franzen scored with 1:39 left in overtime to lift the Red Wings and end the franchise-record 233-minute 39-second shutout streak of Nashville’s Dan Ellis. Dominik Hasek, returning after missing two games because of flu, stopped 22.

* at Minnesota 3, Colorado 2 (OT): The Wild clinched its second straight playoff spot behind Marian Gaborik’s two goals, including the winner in overtime. The winner was Gaborik’s career-high 40th goal and his franchise-record 80th point.

* at Vancouver 6, Calgary 2: Trevor Linden broke open a tie game with two goals five minutes apart in the second period for the Canucks, who moved a point ahead of ninth-place Nashville and two points behind the seventh-place Flames in the West.

* at Buffalo 2, Boston 1 (OT): Andrej Sekera scored 39 seconds into overtime to keep alive the playoff hopes of the Sabres, who would have been eliminated from contention with a loss.

* at Chicago 5, Columbus 4 (SO): Patrick Kane scored the only goal in a shootout, and the Blackhawks remained in the playoff hunt by pulling within four points of eighth-place Vancouver in the West.

* at San Jose 3, Phoenix 1: Joe Thornton scored two goals in the first period, and the Sharks eliminated the Coyotes from playoff contention. Evgeni Nabokov made 19 saves for the Sharks.

* at Ducks 3, Dallas 2: Ducks defenseman Mathieu Schneider scored twice in regulation and goalie Jean-Sebastien Giguere made a pair of stops in a shootout.
