Way underpaid

Re “She has the dirt on the Angels,” Column One, May 12

According to MLB.com, the minimum salary for a Major League baseball player this year is $390,000, and the average salary last year was $2,824,751. Erica Ford, a valued 11-year employee of the Angels, comes to work at 3 a.m. each day of the season. She toils in sweatshop-like conditions each morning, scrubbing, mending and folding the dirty laundry of well-paid players and coaches -- all for the princely salary of $10.70 an hour.

The Angels -- management and players -- should be ashamed. They can do better by Ford.
