Officer’s sentence: An article and headline in the Sept. 9 California section about Los Angeles Unified School District police Officer Ian Mitchell King being sentenced to 20 years in state prison stated that he was sentenced on charges that included rape by a public official. As the article stated, that information came from a probation officer’s report. After the article’s publication, King’s attorney obtained a court order changing the language of the report, which had described the charge incorrectly, so that it correctly described the charge as sexual battery by a public official.
