Investigators are looking for a relative in connection with the killings of two men whose bodies were found Tuesday morning buried behind a home near Silver Lake, Los Angeles police said.

The victims’ identities were withheld pending notification of family. But Los Angeles Police Department Officer Sam Park identified the suspect as 21-year-old Ronald Mendez, the son and nephew of the dead men.

Mendez is considered armed and dangerous and might be driving a beige 1986 four-door Mercedes-Benz, license plate 5DJW317, Park said.

Officers discovered large blood spatters after they were called to the home in the 2800 block of London Street, near the 101 Freeway and Silver Lake Boulevard, just after 9 a.m., Park said.

The detectives brought in cadaver dogs and unearthed the bodies from a freshly dug grave, which was covered with old lumber and other debris.

Anyone with information about Mendez’s whereabouts is asked to call the Rampart Division at (213) 484-3010.
